This exquisite pair of silk velvet curtains reimagines the great classics with their modern cut and fluid drape. Protected by its tone-on-tone satin lining, it fastens elegantly onto the curtain rail’s rings using its tiebacks.

Savoir-faire

This curtain is made from a soft, flowing and sensual velvet originally used in clothing, which we selected in the early 2000s. Over the years, Le Monde Sauvage has developed high-quality sourcing practices and forged lasting relationships with producers and craftspeople relationships that continue to this day.

Buying guide: Istanbul Curtain

Our Istanbul curtain is one of our iconic designs. Made from silk velvet and with a beautifully generous drape, it will captivate you with its theatrical appearance.

This curtain is lined, which preserves the quality of the fabric and protects it from light. This also makes it ideal if you are looking for a blackout effect. The darker colours will block out the light most effectively.

For windows between 90 cm and 200 cm wide, we recommend hanging two curtains per window.

The silk velvet creates a flowing drape and beautiful shimmer.  The double width at the bottom of the curtain creates a beautiful pleat and a generous drape onto the floor. We recommend allowing 20 cm of drape onto the floor.

This sophisticated design is equally suited to private spaces (bedrooms) and reception areas (living room, dining room).

This silk velvet curtain is three metres high (excluding the tie loops). To fit your windows, you can shorten this design at the hem. You can also lengthen it by nearly 20 centimetres via the hem. 

Fitted with tiebacks, it is very easy to hang. You will need seven rings per curtain; simply tie a double knot in each one and slide them onto your curtain rod. 

This curtain can also be used to close off a walk-in wardrobe, cover a door or to divide spaces within a room.
