Lorène, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Lorène K. and I’m the presenter and producer of a TV programme called L’instant déKo. My mission? To make antique hunting and decorating a bit more fun. Nearly 30 000 people follow me on Instagram and I try to share my finds and decorating advice with them in a humorous and lighthearted way.
Also I’m just about to open the doors of my furniture renovation studio. I can’t wait to share my creations and bring more vintage furniture back to life!
Mad about decorating
Fundamentally I think we are all mad about interior decorating. We all want to feel at home in our own space. For me, decorating is a way of improving my quality of life on a day to day basis. And that’s what I try to do with my TV programme - to provide practical, accessible advice so that everyone can feel that little bit happier at home.

A passion for antique hunting
Antique markets and the things you find at them fascinate me. Nothing comes close to the charm of objects or pieces of furniture that have stood the test of time. Their patina tells a beautiful tale and that is what appeals to me.
To me, antique hunting is a way of life, a treasure hunt as well as a way of preserving the craft and the character of a forgotten era. Modern houses are immediately improved by the addition of an antique. It adds character and soul.
My antique shop is a clever mix of very classical wooden furniture and more amusing, colourful pieces. I only sell things that I would buy for myself, and I must admit that there is a lot of stuff that I could easily take home ;)

Mad about LMS
I love the originality of Le Monde Sauvage. And I adore Béatrice! She is the personification of everything I hold dear. She is passionate about beautiful things but she doesn’t take herself too seriously - she has that perfect balance between simplicity and edginess. I have never liked people who are snobs or who have fixed ideas about what constitutes good taste and that is why the joy and freedom of Le Monde Sauvage are so attractive to me.

Mad about flower patterned rugs
I adore flowers and I adore colours, so of course I am a fan of the Le Monde Sauvage’s flower patterned rugs.
The best tip to steal from LMS? Use the rug as a bedhead! They are so beautiful that I prefer to hang them on the wall rather than to walk on them. They are so much more original as a bedhead and they really make a statement.
My absolute favourite is the Balti rug in the Sienna colourway. I love the way that the classical Romanian rug has been reinterpreted so that you see a pixelated version instead of the original. It’s pretty daring and the mix between traditional and modern is what really pleases me.
Mad about the Popopop range
So my meeting Beatrice all happened because of the Popopop sofa. I was at a rather grand decorating event in Paris and the Popopop sofa was on show and I thought it was awesome. I threw myself on it as a joke and Béatrice found it very funny. And that’s how we became friends. A sofa is a good way of getting close to someone you see ;)
Your dream project?
The craziest thing I have ever done is to launch a TV programme based on the two things I love most: decorating and antique hunting. After ten months of working nonstop the first two episodes of L’instant DéKo were shown in September. It made me so happy to see the project come to life, especially after so much uncertainty.
There is nothing more motivating than having your own project. It really gets you out of bed in the morning! I’m pretty sure I will learn so much from this programme and that makes me really happy!
